**12 Months Fixed term**

**JOB PURPOSE**:

- To promote the education and development of children under 5 years with special educational needs.
- To provide a package of support to maintain the educational placements of early years children of non-statutory school age
- To follow and implement the Graduated Approach of the SEND Code of Practice
- To work in schools and settings across the county to build the skill base and capacity to include pupils with SEMH needs.
- To work directly with children and professionals, to ensure the right support is available at the right time enabling children to make the very best educational outcomes
- To model good practice for providers, ensuring children are included and can access education
- To deliver high quality provision enabling pupils to make progress
- To manage a caseload of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- To promote equality, diversity and inclusion
- To write reports, detailed advice and keep records in line with service expectations

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Level 3 in childcare or equivalent
- GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language
- Substantial experience with working families and children who have SEND
- Experience of collaborative working within a partnership context with external agencies to enhance SEND
- Experience of having worked with children under 5
- Knowledge of child development up to the age of 5
- Knowledge of a range of special educational needs
- Good personal organisational skills e.g. time management
- Ability to relate to parents/carers who may be under considerable stress
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, coupled with good listening skills
- The ability to deliver training to staff and other professionals
- Evidence of being able to work collaboratively within a team with the ability to generate enthusiasm
- The ability to take responsibility for meeting deadlines adjusting tasks and priorities as situations demand
- A flexible approach to working, including out-of-hours, and an ability and willingness to travel to various locations
- Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
