**Head Brewer**
The St Andrews Brewing Company are looking to recruit an experienced full-time brewer to lead the production of our award winning beers and help us to continue to grow and develop the brewery.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Lead brewing team
- Ensuring conformance to SALSA Plus Beer
- Scheduling daily/weekly production activities alongside our Chief Operations Officer
- Brewing in our 30bbl brewhouse
- Managing stocks of raw materials and preparing them for use
- Maintaining existing and adding to documentation of processes across all areas of production
- Supervising and/or working with our entire production team including our brewer, and delivery driver
- Cleaning and maintenance of all production equipment
- Responsibility for maintaining and monitoring quality of all beer production
- Taking samples, managing fermentation and preparing beer in tank for packaging
- Packaging beer into kegs, casks and bulk containers
- Completion of production paperwork in a timely and comprehensive manner
**Occasional responsibilities**
- Assisting at St Andrews Brewing Company events
- Delivery of stock to third party customers and St Andrews Brewing Company venues
- Administering tours of the Brewery
**Essential attributes**
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- 5+ Years experience in a commercial brewery.
- Relevant brewing qualifications from a recognised institution such as Herriot-Watt, IBD etc. or equivalent time served experience
- Knowledge and understanding of brewing equipment, systems and processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and control systems.
- Supervisory experience within a production team.
- Willingness to mentor team members.
- High level of attention to detail and process.
**Desirable Attributes**
- Wide knowledge of the UK craft beer scene
- Current UK forklift licence
- MSc in Brewing & Distilling, IBD Diploma or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in maintaining and servicing bar equipment
