**ROLE: Purchase Ledger Assistant**
**REPORTS TO: Purchase Ledger Supervisor**
**DEPARTMENT: Finance**
**LOCATION: Exeter**
**PURPOSE**:
- To perform general day to day clerical tasks to support primarily the Accounts Payable Team.
- To ensure an excellent service is provided at all times to other departments within the organisation
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Matching and processing high volumes of supplier invoices onto accounting system
- Checking nominal and analytical coding is posted line with the company’s procedures
- Liaising with relevant internal departments daily to ensure that goods receipting of purchase orders is completed so that month end deadlines are met.
- Ensuring that invoices are checked for accuracy and VAT compliance
- Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
- Regular reconciliation of supplier statements
- Daily filing duties
- Dealing with supplier payment enquiries
- Ensuring that purchase order rules and procedures are adhered to by suppliers and internal departments
- Managing disputes with both suppliers and internal departments to ensure quick resolution
- Recording information and updating paperwork, maintaining documents.
- Answering and directing incoming calls as appropriate
- Other ad-hoc tasks as & when required
**SUCCESS MEASURES**
- Achieved reporting targets and deadlines
- Accurate supplier accounts
- Meet all KPI’s
**SKILLS + EXPERIENCE**
- Previous Experience in a similar role preferred
- Good IT skills including previous experience of Microsoft Excel
- A self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to work able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Well organised, able to prioritise and manage multi tasks simultaneously
- An inquisitive mindset looking at better ways of working and take responsibility for own projects
**CORE COMPETENCIES**
- Self-assured with good communication skills, both written & verbal, who is results orientated and has a ‘can do attitude’
- Strong numeric skills coupled with good organisational skills
- Demonstrate good attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve and work to tight deadlines
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From £22,000.00 per year
