I have a **FANTASTIC** opportunity for a **MOTIVATED** and **PASSIONATE** individual to join a children's residential service in the area of Ebbw Vale as a Senior Children's Support Worker supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and committed individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

No two days are ever the same as a children's support worker, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but gratifying work
- **Salary: £35,100 (sleep allowance included)**:

- **Hours: 40 hours per week**:

- **Contract: Full Time**:

- **Shift pattern: 3-week rolling rota (x10 24-hour shifts per month)**

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**

**Responsibilities of a Children's Residential Support Worker**:

- Encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
- Keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- Be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for young people.
- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

**Requirements Children's Residential Support Worker**:

- NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Health and Social Care
- Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People
- Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
- You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people.
- You must be over the age of 25.
- You must be able to commute to Ebbw Vale.
