Halcyon Health & Social Care are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a support worker to work within a residential setting for adult male ex-offenders who may also suffer with mental health issues, autism and learning disabilities. The service is set within a beautiful 250-acre working farm on the outskirts of Wells and boasts an outstanding reputation for providing a holistic and integrated approach, combining practical skills and therapy-based support to help vulnerable individualsto live their lives to their full potential. Residents take an active role in caring for a range of livestock including a sheep, cattle, pigs, and donkeys. There are managed woodlands and farmlands that residents work to produce crops for wholesale and for animal feed. In addition to these skills, the Farm provides a range of craft workshops, speech and language therapies, literacy and numeracy, employability and daily living skills. Able to recognise conflict and challenging behaviour and situations with young people.
