**Mechanical Building Services - Site Supervisor**

**Brief details of the position**:
A vacancy has arisen for a Supervisor to initially operate at the Cheltenham General Hospital site in Gloucestershire supporting the Mechanical Project Manager in overseeing and managing the Installation of the Mechanical Services and control of Subcontractors on this New Build and Refurbishment Project. This post requires both on site engineering duties & office responsibilities.

**Aims & Objectives**
- Health & Safety and Environmental compliance
- Be conversant with current Health & Safety legislation with relevance to safe working practices and carry out tool box talks
- Maintain accurate records of works done and expenditure using this information to report to the Project Managers as required.
- Liaise and co-ordinate site activities associated with services for which you are responsible, i.e. Labour planning and ordering of materials.
- Assist in the preparation of emergency contingency plans
- Co-ordinate all site activities to ensure all safety aspects are managed and monitored in accordance with site / contract procedures and HSE requirements.
- Undertake all tasks associated with labour planning and providing holiday and sickness cover.
- Be responsible for the day to day running of the work requirements and organising the various subcontractors in order to meet completion deadlines.
- Take ownership of the client's needs and pursue good communications with the customer in order to build and maintain a stable relationship
- Be proactive with regard to Client changes and extra works
- Operate Integral QA procedures and maintain clear and legible records as required
- Co-operate with Integral office support staff providing information as required.
- Carry out Site supervisory visits and audits to ensure quality and completion of work is at the required standard
- Co-ordinate and manage all preferred subcontractors activity relating to works undertaken
- Provide cover for Project manager/engineer when required, i.e. holidays, sickness
- Carry out timesheet approval for operatives when required.
- Ensure compliance with safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements etc. and all relevant documentation is adhered to in accordance with company health and safety policy.
- Undertake site surveys
- Maintain staff moral and motivation of all direct reports
- Produce and submit weekly labour work allocation planner and review progress of completed works
- Attend meetings as required
- Drive a high performing culture across our projects driving our site teams and supply chain
- Deliver projects to programme and commercial targets as set by senior management team
- Ensure high quality of installation by sub-contract partners to deliver on time, first time and achieve ‘engineering excellence' on every project
- Ensure Integral forms and processes followed in line with main contractors documentation
- Ensure compliance to all Integral UK policies during the Project Installation and during PC handover.

**Responsibilities**
- Drive a safety first culture on site through dialogue, support of H&S team on inspections and challenged any non-conformance by operatives
- Deliver project in line with the contract and target construction programme
- To take responsibility for the overall performance of the onsite works
- To lead, motivate and develop the site based team.
- To lead the relevant site based project team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Engineering standards.
- To ensure works are carried out to high standard complying with relevant British Standards and codes of practice.
- Drive the design team to achieve a compliant design for each project in line with deliverables schedule from client
- To take responsibility for the overall performance of your team.
- To develop customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- To lead, motivate and develop the site based team.
- Ensure full compliance with the project programme.
- Produce weekly reports to the client.
- Ensure projects are completed snag and defect free.

**Qualifications**:

- City & Guilds qualifications within Building Services or equivalent
- JIB/BESA
- CSCS Card
- SSSTS/SMSTS
- First Aid

**Experience**:

- 5 years experience in the role of a Supervisor
- A good knowledge of Mechanical building services
- Experience of working on large Industrial, Commercial and Healthcare Schemes
- Sound level of administration and organisational skills
- Practical experience within the building industry
- Health and Safety experience
- Sound knowledge of computers software, Microsoft Office
- Time served apprenticeship
