**Role Title**:Director, Employee Relations Case Management Specialist

**What will you be doing**:
The Employee Relations Case Management Team is responsible for providing end to end ER support and advice to managers and HRBPs within the ER Case Management Service Line across all Barclays businesses (predominately in the UK but with some advisory support offered to HR in EME locations), and oversight of applicable UK regulatory reporting.
Support and advice will include but is not limited to investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, capability cases, sickness cases, regulatory matters and conduct policy related issues. Managers and HR colleagues supported will largely be based in the UK but could be located globally and advice will be given on the telephone, in writing and in person, depending on logistics.
This is a newly created people leader role, managing a team of ER professionals (including 4 VP level direct reports) supporting the BX and BUK business areas.
Strategy and Oversight
- Reporting to the Head of Case Management, the successful applicant will be part of the ER Case Management Leadership Team, responsible for setting, overseeing, and driving the ER case management strategy and culture.
- Leverage proven industry ER or employment legal experience, as the team continues to evolve and explore process and technological efficiencies in line with the HR transformation programme.
- Accountable for the oversight and timely management of BX and BUK cases, providing senior oversight and advice, ensuring a consistent and pragmatic approach across cases, partnering with our 3rd party provider to ensure continuity of experience and service.
- Build strategic relationships with HRDs, and senior HR and business stakeholders to understand business priorities and inform commercial approach to business challenges.
- Represent ER in key forums with the HRBPs and other HR TCs to ensure seamless execution and effective delivery that meets the evolving needs of stakeholders.
Case Management
- Lead, and manage the ER Case Management BX and BUK Case Management Team and portfolio of work including setting objectives and monitoring performance, reviewing resourcing and monitoring workloads, and supporting team development and wellbeing.
- Oversight and lead on higher risk/complex/senior level cases, particularly involving regulatory matters, Conduct Rules, significant events, multi-jurisdictional cases and potential whistleblowing matters, partnering with investigation and control teams, including Litigation, Compliance and Chief Security Office Investigations on disciplinary related matters and regulatory inquiries/requests.
- Work in partnership with EIP Legal to agree the strategy for and manage response to litigation claims plus liaison and negotiations where necessary with external lawyers/barristers in relation to tribunal responses.
- Act as an escalation point for high-profile cases, and a management escalation point for your team, providing advice and strategic direction on high-risk cases with a focus on the timely closure of matters operating ER processes consistently and in line with the Barclays Way.
- Provide ER advice in relation to a wide array of complex and/or contentious case matters directly to the business, up to and including ExCo. Reviewing and drafting of documentation (invite letters, question sets, investigation reports and outcome letters), advising on process as well as potential employment / legal risk and attendance at appropriate meetings to provide support and advice.
- Support your team in appropriately assessing cases under the appropriate conduct frameworks and lead Conduct Rules Panels to identify Conduct Rules breaches in line with the UK SMCR regime.
Management Information and Reporting
- Partner with the Case Management Leadership Team (LT) to evolve the provision of analytics, insights and trends for HRDs, and HRBPs to provide constructive guidance to the business on their workforce.
Policy development and Continuous Improvement
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, through empowering teams, with an ongoing focus on controls. Lead cross-functional-teams across ER Case Management and other areas of ER and HR on pro-active process/practices improvement, identification and innovation. Identify, lead and drive projects accordingly.
**What we’re looking for**:
- High degree of in-depth ER technical skills including regulatory matters, as a true ER SME with a proven track record of leading serious/complex investigations (to MD-level) and building relationships and supporting senior stakeholders within a regulated environment and supported by either an ER or Employment Law / relevant Legal qualification or significant practical Financial Services experience (ideally in a front office environment).
