Our client are a fast growth business.

They are now looking for a Technical Manager to join the team with electrical experience.

**Job Purpose**
- To ensure that all products brough to market are safe, fit for purpose and are of excellent quality, meeting both internal & external customer requirements.
- To advise on product quality improvements & cost saving suggestions and following these through to implementation with OEM manufacturers
- Implementation of the product development launch pipeline, following the technical processes required, for right-first-time and on-time product delivery.
- To meet all legal compliance standards required and constantly meet customer expectations in relation to the quality of product.
- To monitor and advise on product performance in the market by reviewing/assessing product returns and customer feedback. To produce reports on performance and advise on product improvements.
- Investigation and satisfactory resolution of customer complaints, in a timely fashion
- Monitoring & reporting on supplier performance against a set of defined criteria, to aid supplier selection and ongoing performance measurement.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**

**Communication**
- A strong and confident communicator - both written and verbally
- PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, power point - Ability to communicate clearly with field based teams (china) & to support & direct them in delivering against our technical & quality requirements
- Experienced in working with 3rd party testing & inspection agencies (UK and abroad)
- To give direction & instruction to OEM manufacturing suppliers - to articulate requirements
- To work within a multi-disciplinary team that includes - technical, sourcing, sales, commercial, Far East team and marketing - with a one-team approach, but with all having clear levels of accountability & responsibility
- Able to communicate at all levels of the business - both up & down - in a manner that is appropriate for the audience intended Product Assessment
- Able to appraise, test and report on the build quality, performance and safety of the design of products that the business intends to import (e.g microwaves)
- To feed back to manufacturers on suggested product improvements and design changes required - and to follow these through to implementation
- Skilled in a wide range of White Goods product categories (to include Cooking, Refrigeration, Laundry and Dishwashing) Product Safety Standards
- Familiar with the framework of international safety standards that are applicable to the products you are required to assess (LVD, EMC, ErP, RoHS, Reach, CE marking, etc.)
- Ability to interpret safety standards requirements and to ensure our products are compliant with these
- Experienced in working with 3rd party testing organisations - and able to review documentation provided from them and to them
- Experienced in the compilation of product Technical Construction Files (TCF) Managing Quality Processes
- To support the development and operation of quality control systems.
- To review and approve pre-shipment inspection reports.
- To review and approve factory audit & assessment reports.
- To manage the company SEDEX membership and supplier compliance.
- To use statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
- To be familiar with quality cost concepts and techniques in order to effectively manage the quality control systems.
- To have a fundamental understanding of a quality system and their development, documentation, and implementation with respect to any internal and external requirements
- To understand the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up.
- To understand the process of problem solving and quality improvement techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
