You will be responsible for the social worker agenda, overseeing the provision of practical, social, and emotional support services for service users and their carers.

In addition, the potholder will also act as a resource person for all members of the MDT in relation to psychosocial aspects for service users and carers, providing social work support and advice. They will represent the team at funding panels, accompanying the worker to this in the capacity of Senior Social Worker. LAS management training and support will be provided.

Experience of participation in the implementation, audit and review of policies, procedures and systems for the delivery of an effective OPCMHT service is desirable, as is the experience of leading on / contributing to the development of service improvement initiatives across services.

To work as a senior member of the community multi-disciplinary mental health team
representing a social work perspective to service users experiencing mental health difficulties.
To provide confident experienced social work input, including the development of the Social
Worker role within the Community Mental Health Team.
To offer expert advice and guidance to the team on child and adult safeguarding issues,
including writing reports and representing/supporting the service at child protection
conferences and other relevant meetings.
To offer expert advice and guidance to the team on Court of Protection, DOLs, Mental Capacity,
Section 117 and placements, including report writing and attending relevant meetings.
To act as an autonomous senior clinician being accountable for a defined small caseload
including service users with complex social care needs.
To participate in the mentorship, education and supervision of junior social workers, social work
students on practice placement as well as other students on placement within the service.
