**Salary/Grade: £12 per hour**

**Contract: Zero hours**

**Introduction**

Afghan Association Paiwand is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee founded in 2002. It aims to benefit the refugee and asylum-seeking community in the United Kingdom through reducing poverty, advancing education, and relieving suffering.

**Aims of the post**

We constantly are looking for ways to recruit those who share our vision and those who would like to enhance their job prospects by volunteering for us. The purpose of this role is to recruit, train and manage volunteers. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and organisational skills to help keep things organised and running smoothly in our busy office.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collect information on availabilities and skills
- Monitor & manage volunteers
- Arrange for appropriate training when needed
- Produce schedules for day-to-day volunteer activities
- Liaising with project managers to identify their project needs for volunteers
- Assist with creating a step-by-step induction program
- sourcing new volunteers
- Assign responsibilities to the right people
- Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
- Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments
- Ensure the purpose of the organization and its actions are clearly communicated

Requirements and skills

We are looking for individuals who possess some or all of the below experiences, skills, and qualities:

- Have experience volunteering elsewhere.
- Understand the needs of the volunteers
- An ability to work with people in a flexible and efficient manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work independently
- Experience in recruiting through various channels
- Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
- Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
- A pleasant, outgoing personality
- Language fluency: - Farsi, Dari & Pashtu

Desirable to have
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience working in the charitable sector
- Enthusiasm and commitment to environmental and social welfare objectives
- Problem-solving skills
- A flexible, dynamic, and creative approach
- Other IT, design, social media & marketing skills

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
