Student Wellbeing Practitioner

Student wellbeing is at the top of our agenda at the RGS.
Our Pastoral Team includes the Senior Deputy Head, the Assistant Head Pastoral (DSL), Heads of Section, Heads of Year, a School Counsellor and a School Nurse. We are now looking for a Student Wellbeing Practitioner to join the team.
The Student Wellbeing Practitioner will provide operational support to the pastoral team on a day-to-day basis as well as contribute to the strategic plans for the department.
Applications are welcomed from qualified mental health nurses, those working in the field of mental health and others with an interest in mental health and pastoral care within an educational setting.
You will have, or be willing to work towards, one or more of the following qualifications: Children's Wellbeing Practitioner, Level 2 Early Intervention Practitioner, Certificate in Understanding Mental Health, Mental Health First Aider.
- **Responsibilities will include**:_
- Oversee the most serious mental health cases and help coordinate communication between parents, teachers and external agencies;
- Be overall responsible for EBSA students;
- Run regular check-ins with most at risk students, and work directly with parents and wider families of students with serious mental health issues;
- Assist with the transition programme for students;
- Contribute to the delivery of assemblies and parent information evenings;
- Oversee the development of effective mental health and wellbeing provision in line with the government guidance;
- Help resource PSHME lessons throughout the school for topics such as mental health and wellbeing.
