An opportunity exists for a Cook to join our team at Meadowcroft a home specialising in person-centred care of the elderly. Applicants will likely have experience of working in a similar environment, be enthusiastic, an effective communicator, have high standards, and be sensitive to the needs of the elderly. Your role will include delivering personalised menu plans for service users, catering support for special events and functions at the home, all within the constraints of budget. You will be jointly responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen and support the Senior Cook and management with menu planning and food orders. Without a doubt a quality kitchen experience has positive benefits on the physical and mental wellbeing of our service users, something that we are very proud of at Meadowcroft. The role is 18 hours per week. Core working hours are 8:00 to 14:00 3 days per week (Tuesday, Friday, & Sunday), with additional hours for baking, menu planning, food ordering and training supporting the other kitchen staff. An enhanced rate of pay is available for hours worked at weekends. **We are looking for a person who**: - can prepare meals, meeting all dietary requirements - is able to follow individual care plans - can be considerate & kind with residents and visitors - will meet our kitchen cleaning schedules, - will maintain hygiene, health and safety, infection prevention control, and fire safety requirements at all time - working knowledge of 'Safer Food, Better Business' food hygiene standards - is likely to hold a current Food and Hygiene Certificate or be willing to undertake training to obtain this - is capable of menu planning, food ordering and monitoring stock levels - has good time management - can bring positive energy to work - aspires to work with an innovative care business - can work independently as well as part of a team - has experience supervising and training other kitchen staff. **In return, you can expect**: - a salary of £11.83 per hour with a weekend enhancement - enhanced Bank Holiday pay - an annual bonus based on company performance - the pro-rata equivalent of at least 29 days holiday (including bank holidays). - a company pension scheme where eligible - Group Life Insurance - Income protection & Wellbeing Plan - a collaborative and supportive induction process - company sick pay (following a successful probation period) - to both receive a £500 bonus if you refer a friend or ex colleague to work for Meadowcroft **Our Values**: Calmness We enjoy the challenge of working in a demanding world with fluid situations but every decision is better when made by calm heads.
