Reading Play is looking for a creative, energetic and highly motivated play practitioners to join their team. You will need to be both passionate about your work and excited about the opportunity to deliver a wide variety of different play sessions to childrenand young people throughout the Reading Borough, and occasionally beyond.

**About the role**

As a Supply Community Playworker, you will be supporting and leading a variety

of different types of sessions at Prospect Park, in schools or around the community. These sessions may include creative play, respite support and SEN support.

You will be a positive role model and be actively seeking to engage children in play throughout each of the sessions and encouraging children to participate in play that supports their educational attainment, development and wellbeing.

During holiday periods you may be working at Holiday play clubs or supporting us deliver family activities in our open spaces or at Prospect Park.

You’ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. **About you**
- You will need to be able to form positive working relationships with the children, their parents/carers, and with key partner organisations such as Schools.
- The role consists of respite play for children and young people, including in parks and open spaces, schools and special schools. You will therefore need a flexible approach to the types of work you undertake and the hours worked.
- An FE qualification or higher in childcare, play or equivalent is desirable for this role but not essential.
