Youth Support Worker

To be part of a small team to work with young women’s as part of a well-established Girls group at Maypole Youth Centre.
2.5 hours per week; Centre based youth work Tuesday 16.45pm - 19.15pm
To work directly with young people and potential users of the centre, group, club, or project.
To be responsible for developing and organising a programme of activities and events at the centre/project
To work within the City Council’s policies and procedures on equal opportunities in all aspects of service delivery, actively promoting services to meet the needs of disadvantaged and minority groups.
**To be responsible for day to day administration, finance and record keeping.
To work as a member of a team and as team leader where appropriate, liaising with other relevant services and agencies to assist in meeting the needs of the club/project.
To manage part-time and volunteer staff as appropriate, including responsibilities for staff recruitment, motivation, development and training.
**To attend regular supervision/appraisal sessions with the line manager in accordance with current arrangements for the supervision of part-time workers.
To take all necessary action to ensure that health and safety responsibilities are discharged in respect of statutory regulations and departmental safety policies in all matters within the jurisdiction of the post.
This post necessitates a commitment to ongoing training and the postholder is expected to attend relevant training sessions as agreed, and to attend unit, Area or City based meetings as required.
**To carry out other relevant associated duties as may from time to time incidentally arise, develop or be assigned.
Experience of working with young women
Experience of working with young people is required.
