And since 1870 we’ve been making malted Barley for brewers and distillers all over the world from our home maltings in Norfolk. Today, we continue that in 4 countries, across 7 Maltings with specific emphasis on supplying distilleries and craft breweries.
We have an exciting opportunity at our Alloa Crisp Malt site for a Sack Plant Operator to join our team.
You will be working as part of a small team and will be responsible for the day to day running of the Sack Plant, ensuring the production plan always meets timelines and deadlines and all products are correctly made first time. With quality and safety at the forefront.
This role is Monday to Friday 8:00am-17:00pm
**The key responsibilities for this role are**:
**Malt handling**
- Work with the Silo Operator to ensure that malt is brought across the bridge conveyor then into the Sack Plant.
- Making sure the malt is clean, free from contamination, the correct stock item and weight required for bagging.
**Bagging line operations**
- Running the bagging line making sure malt is packed, labelled and palletised correctly with accordance to the Sack Plant production plan.
**Stock transfer via FLT to the warehouse**
- Moving stock from the Sack Plant to the Warehouse safely. Booking in stock correctly via the in-house scan gun systems.
**Picking customer orders**
- Using the in-house order/ stock control system, orders are to be picked RFT and in full. Pallets
- Ensuring stacked neatly to ensure the sacks of malt are secure to the pallet while maintaining good manual handling practices.
**Loading lorries**
- Ensuring that pallets are loaded to curtain side lorries safely and neatly read for onward transit.
**Weekly stock take**
- Ensuring that a weekly stock take is carried out and raise any stock adjustments required with your supervisor or manager.
**Weekly racking inspection**
- Ensuring that a weekly racking inspection is carried out and any red risks are off loaded and raised with your supervisor or manager.
**Health and Safety**
- Work with site management to ensure compliance to health and safety procedures and take an active role in improving site safety.
- Report identified hazards, near misses and accidents to your line manager as soon as possible to allow action to be taken.
- Report any breaches in Crisp procedures to your line manager as soon as possible to ensure adherence to legislation and internal requirements
**Hygiene**
- Ensure that the sack plant, warehouse, and loading area are always kept clean and tidy.
**Experience**:
Essential:
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and without supervision.
- Good level of written and oral English language.
- Able to work within a fast past environment to ensure orders are packed and dispatch in a timely manner and right first time.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours.
- Strong communication skills to develop working relationships.
Desirable:
- FLT license.
- Previous production-based experience.
- Previous use of barcode scan gun systems.
- Previous understanding of stock control in and out.

**Salary**: Up to £22,000.00 per year
