**Category Planning Co-ordinator - GM Hardlines: Outdoor, Essentials & Entertainment**

Asda are currently on the lookout for a Category Planning Assistant so support our GM Hardlines category. With areas such as Outdoor Living and Music, Video & Games included in the GM Hardlines role, it is an exciting, fast-moving area within the business.The breadth of the categories presents a varied & challenging opportunity for a Marketing or Trading Assistant able to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks and communicate at all levels.

**Your Role**:
As Category Planning Co-ordinator, you'll work alongside the Category Planner to ensure that we understand our customers' needs through analysis of insight and Market data as well as supporting on the development of marketing strategies to meet and exceedthe customer's needs

You will work closely with corporate marketing, POS, trading & activity planning teams to coordinate the category planning activity for your areas.

You will co-ordinate the category planning activity for your Categories through cross functional working to ensure that we understand what our customers want and to assist the development of Category Strategies to meet and exceed these needs to ultimatelydeliver a competitive advantage and therefore drive sales

**Job Profile**

Responsibility for all category planning admin including:

- Managing and providing nominations to Corporate Marketing for category activity
- Management of images and/or samples for photography and all media or events related requests
- Supporting the category activity plan to include: Range, Foyer, Event and Promotional activity and executing media comms & POS
- Managing all POS for your categories and engaging with stakeholders to gain sign off of POS
- Completing Event Block Plans for all seasonal events
- Supporting on the management of TPA, coordinating PO's being raised
- Completing competitor reviews for all key activity as required
- Coordination of trader sign off on all creative inc. product and price
- Project support of all events, walk-rounds, showcases and conferences
- Project support of all Events, Walkrounds, Showcases and Conferences.
- Support Manager and Category Planner on adhoc projects

**About You**
- Strong track record of administrative attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Time management and organisational skills are key as we must follow multiple critical paths at the same time
- Have great interpersonal and team working skills with the ability to work well cross functionally and communicate confidently at all levels
- Analytical with the ability to interpret and present data - Customer insight / Market Data
- Able to work on your own initiative
- Computer literature and confident using PowerPoint and Excel
