Workshop & Yard Assistant

**Role**: Workshop & Yard Operative

**Salary: **Up to £21,000

**As a Workshop & Yard Operative you will be responsible for;**
- Effective communication with workshop supervisor regarding the activity completed in the yard/workshop.
- Ensuring that all Scissor lifts in yard are fully charged and operational.
- Ensuring all Gas/Diesel Trucks are unloaded and stored in designated area’s
- The Hygiene and Safety of the Yard/Warehouse area onsite. This includes but not limited to General Housekeeping, Oil spills/Chemical Spills etc. (Oil and Chemical spills must be reported)
- The rotation of all equipment onsite to ensure that equipment is not left idle for longs periods of time.
- Ensuring that all equipment due to leave the site for Hire and sales are cleaned and checked prior to leaving.
- Adhering to all company Policies/Procedures & Guidelines.
- Assisting in the Loading/Unloading of equipment for both Hitec and Clients vehicles ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
- Taking responsibility for own Health and Safe as well as your colleagues ensuring all company policies and procedures are adhered to all times.
- Ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times (Steel toe boots etc)
- Ensuring that the Steam Cleaner and Wash bay are regular maintained to ensure keeps in operation.
- Ensuring Gas bottles are stored and organised correctly.
- Maintaining brake cleaner & TFR levels and top up were required
- Maintaining red diesel log and ensure volume used is past to parts for booking out
- Organisation of forks & fork extensions within the yard in their designated area

**As a Workshop & Yard Operative you will demonstrate;**
- Effective Communication
- Ability to work on own Initiative
- Ability to interact with Clients in a professional manner
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
