We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Assistant to strengthen our technical resource. This role is working with some demanding customers, supplying major retailers and food service customers.

This is a full time permanent role working 5 days per week, 8am-4pm, with a 30 minute break and requiring flexibility to work some weekends and evenings.

The purpose of the role will be to assist the Technical Manager with ensuring that matters relating to food safety, technical, legality and quality on site are maintained.

Responsibilities will include:

- Monitoring, maintaining, and improving our standards and help to drive a quality culture.
- Conducting internal, GMP and housekeeping/hygiene audits and monitoring completion of follow up actions within agreed timescales.
- Assisting in training of operatives in hygiene and technical/food safety issues.
- Help manage the site pest control contract and inspections, and close off non
- conformances.
- Help manage the site hygiene team, directing and monitoring their work.
- Participate in wider strategic technical activity, HACCP reviews, and 3rd party/customer audits.
- Active participation in customer web based quality systems to ensure compliance with requirements, and assisting with completion of specifications.
- Assisting with NPD and improvements to existing products and supporting the broader team on project work as needed.
- Support the Technical Manager by being able to competently and professionally represent the company with customers, suppliers and external bodies as required.

The role offers a competitive salary of £27,000 - £29,000 per year commensurate with experience.
