We are looking for a **Communications Executive **with experience of internal and external **communications and engagement **to **deliver a communications strategy **across a variety of channels in order to amplify the work of Capita’s Fire Service College (FSC) and Capita Fire and Rescue (CFR).

You will also work closely with operational teams across the FSC and CFR to devise communications plans, with a particular focus on **social media channels, **which reflect the diverse range of work undertaken across both businesses. Your communications experience and expertise will ensure that our key messages are consistent across channels and audiences.

This role is perfect for someone who has several years of experience in a communications role, ideally with **experience of developing, implementing and monitoring successful social media campaigns already. **You will have support but will be expected to use your creativity, initiative and experience to identify potential news stories and maximise their potential through a variety of communications and engagement channels. You will be required to work independently, whilst being part of a supportive team.

This role will be part of the Corporate Communications Function that supports Capita Public Service - which brings together capabilities from across Capita, to improve productivity for Government clients and improve citizen experience.

**What you will do**:

- Work with teams across CFR and the FSC to identify great news stories, case studies and photo opportunities which we will use to build our profile and amplify our successes.
- Write engaging copy for a variety of different audiences, with a focus on maximising opportunities to promote both the FSC and CFR external audiences including relevant trade media.
- Provide sound communications advice and guidance to teams across the FSC and CFR.
- Devise, implement and monitor social media campaigns (Twitter and LinkedIn) which promote the FSC and CFR and build our reputation.
- Support the delivery of the engagement and communications strategies across the Fire Service College and Capita Fire and Rescue by contributing to the planning, editing, writing and publishing good quality content and images for a variety of internal communications channels, such as Yammer, the intranet and newsletters, as well as for external channels including social media.
- Support the coordination of events (virtual and in person).
- Develop new activities and campaigns on themes such as responsible business and wellbeing initiatives for our colleagues.
- Model Capita’s values and behaviours at all times as an influencer in the business
- Advise colleagues on best practice communications.
- Own the evaluation and reporting of communications campaigns and use insight to challenge our existing ways of working and processes, always striving to improve our outcomes.
- Contribute to drumbeat communications channels, including producing copy for our regular newsletter and communications cascades.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Someone with several years of experience in a communications role, ideally with experience of delivering both internal and external communications strategies, including social media.
- Someone with excellent writing skills who is able to produce engaging copy tailored including press releases and internal briefings and presentations
- Someone with experience of writing and delivering communications strategies
- Experience of developing and implementing engaging campaigns across social media channels and providing full evaluation.
- Excellent communications skills and good news sense.
- Someone who is confident speaking to colleagues
- Someone who is well-organised, and who can manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once
- Someone who pays attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience of basic graphic design and video and photo editing skills,
