The Buyer will look after the commercial procurement activity for all items within the assigned category. You will be responsible for delivering targeted cost savings whilst maintaining and improving supplier and product quality.
Working collaboratively with our various departments in the UK and Procurement teams across the world, you will be responsible for:
- Sourcing events, onboarding new suppliers.
- Tendering existing business
- Negotiation of pricing, terms, and rebates with suppliers
- Supplier risk management
- Supplier relationship, contract & supply performance management
- Compliance with product legislation and Supplier Guidelines
**Skills & Requirements**
To be successful in this position you will:
- Have the ability to be self-motivated and work proactively as part of a team
- Be a strong negotiator, able to influence with demonstrable ability to add value
- Have excellent analytical, numerical skills
- Be a competitive character
- Be commercially focussed
- Possess demonstrable experience of communicating at various levels & across geographies
- Experience of continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six Sigma
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) Qualified would be preferred
- SAP experience would be preferred
