Academics is working with a large secondary school based in St Helens who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to support SEN pupils aged 11-16 in small groups and on a 1-1 basis.

This is a full-time role expected to last the rest of this academic year.

You must be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.

**Your new role**

You will be responsible for supporting pupils within mainstream classroom settings.

You will need to be nurturing, caring and pro-active and actively encourage access to the curriculum in a way that benefits the pupils and their needs focussing on progression and their classroom engagement.

The school are looking to appoint someone who is able to hit the ground running and make a real positive impact on this student.

You will need to have experience of supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour and have great communication skills as you will be regularly communicating with students, teachers and parents.
