You will be contracted to the NRW location stated in this advert, of which you will be required to attend for regular meetings, training and for one-to-one meetings with your manager. These will be planned in advance.
The Facilities operational team are tasked with providing a **safe and healthy built environment **for NRW staff, and contractors, enabling them to carry out their duties effectively and for our customers to enjoy their visitor experience.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we maintain the above remit whilst effecting changes to improve our buildings so they are **fit for future ways of working** and **reduce NRW’s carbon footprint**, doing our bit to respond to the Climate Emergency.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this job is to support the Hub 4 Coordinator and buildings within the Mid-West area, which includes two busy visitor centres and will involve regular, independent site visits, some to remote locations. Facilities management (FM) tasks and checks will be carried out, recorded and actions followed through. These help us to ensure we maintain statutory legal compliance. The job is busy, and the tasks varied. Examples include recording water temperatures, taking utility meter readings, testing fire alarms, organising repairs and maintenance and ordering stationery.
We are looking for a responsible, flexible, and pragmatic person, able to prioritise and ensure tasks are properly completed and recorded. We also expect the highest standards of excellence towards our customers, both internal and external.
Training will be provided and there are opportunities to undertake an IWFM apprenticeship and for career progression within the FM and Fleet function.
Driving License would be advantageous
**Responsibilities**
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure Facilities Operational team is supported in its role of delivering key Facilities management service for NRW.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster a culture of continuous improvement in delivering frontline Facilities management services for NRW's customers which are essential in ensuring statutory and legal compliance in across NRW’s buildings and other assets.
**Qualifications, experience and knowledge**
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Associate of British Institute of Facilities Management (ABIFM) or similar
- Experience of delivering a service in a Facilities management environment, performing process and procedure tasks, assisting in the management of contracts and contractors, and delivering support to the frontline Facilities Operational teams.
- Experience of delivering Facilities management related services within a shared service centre environment to include:
- Good organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate confidently, with excellent customer service skills.
- Good inter-personal skills with the ability to work under pressure using your own. initiative in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong IT and accurate data entry skills.
- Experience of implementing change or process improvement would also be advantageous.
**Welsh language requirements**:
**Essential** Level 1** -** Able to pronounce Welsh and use basic phrases
**Desirable** Level 3* - Able to communicate with confidence in Welsh in some work situations

**Essential Knowledge and Skills**
- Work experience from previous NRW roles or other organisations, preferably within an administrative environment.
- Good verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and work with a range of individuals and organisations, including in a face to face environment. Organising and coordinating skills are important as is the need to be flexible, adaptable and resilient.
- Demonstrate good literacy, numeracy and IT skills with ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload, although guidance and support will be provided when necessary and appropriate.
- Understanding of the work, function and impact NRW has internally and externally. Demonstrate aptitude for further learning and development of knowledge and skills.
