Purchasing Manager

Kings Lynn

£35,000 - £45,000

36.5 hour working week on site (8am - 4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-12.15pm Friday)

25 days holiday + bank holidays

Reporting to the Operations Manager of a well established component manufacturer based in Kings Lynn. So well established they've been running for coming up to 100 years

A solid management team with a strong core of people, who have been there for a long time. They manufacture their components in the Far East and assemble on site in Kings Lynn.

You'll be managing an experienced Buyer, Planner and Supply Chain person based in the Far East.

**Key Functions**:
Develop performance measures for Purchasing and SOP whereby, material spends, stock levels, PPV, shortages, inventory levels, vendor performance, rejects, lead times, orders loaded, value and confirmation of invoicing are monitored, accurately assessed andreported to the Operations Manager each month. Implement measures to improve performance in these areas.

Review and/or create new Vendor contracts where necessary and negotiate more favourable terms to reduce liability regarding stock levels.

Manage obsolescence, long lead time and supply chain issues in order to maintain an uninterrupted supply of components and purchased parts.

Ensure timely and accurate information on increasing material costs is communicated.

Ensure that the purchasing function participates fully in the established processes for new product introduction and change control.

Maintain adequate training and cross training programmes to ensure that personnel flexibility is maximised.

Accountable for performance of the Fulfilment Team.

Complete and review Risk Assessments for the department work area.

**Expertise**:
You'll ideally have experience purchasing electrical, electronic or mechanical components for an engineering business.

As well as purchasing for everything both direct & indirect on site.

Experience with Far East suppliers would be an advantage but not essential.
