Assistant Bed Coordinator

Humber Working age and Older adults Bed Management Team are looking to recruit a dynamic Bed coordinator. The post holder will work with all inpatient and community services to identify and place patients appropriately and timely, working to agreed protocols and procedures.
You will work as an integral member of the team, working in a rewarding and busy environment. You will be joining 4 others in the team, who are based across 2 sites presently.
Presently we are also involved in supporting and arranging patients transportation when necessary to be placed in Out of area beds when capacity has been reached within the trust. This is currently an important feature of the role in ensuring patients also return in a timely manner.
This interesting and varied role requires the post holder to be committed to teamwork, whilst also having the ability to work well on their own using their initiative based on knowledge and experience.
The Bed Management Team can be extremely busy and demanding, therefore the post holder must possess the ability to manage a variety of tasks and be able to prioritise accordingly.
You will be required to possess excellent communication skills and be expected to represent the service with professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
You will be expected to have proven organisational skills and a strong commitment to personal and professional development.
You will be expected to work 10 hour shifts over a 7 day service.
Mental Health Crisis Service takes on a gate keeping role when hospital in-patient care is required.
We are looking for enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with nursing healthcare experience and a proven ability to provide solutions and deal with complex and demanding situations to enable the natural flow of patient movement across various in-patients units providing acute care.
To ensure quality care is delivered you will have excellent communication skills of both interpersonal levels and written/documentation in capturing essential information in a timely manner.
Working in conjunction with the Service Manager and bed management clinical lead, the role requires in addition to excellent communication; IT skills and competent in the use of a range of software.
There is an expectation to travel to various service areas; therefore a driver is an essential component in carrying out the role.
