**Job description**
To undertake engineering and maintenance activities whilst ensuring that Health and Safety in the workplace is of the highest priority and is not compromised by self or contractors you are responsible for.
Respond to production calls including break downs and line set ups as required. Making repairs and undertaking preventative maintenance activities.
Ensure planned preventative maintenance activities are completed and accurately documented.
Liaise with other departments to promote correct use of equipment and processes are followed.
Where required, be available to assist your team, which may include some out of hours attendance.
Assist the Engineering Manager in delivering projects including new installations within agreed timeframes.
Other duties:
Promote and maintain effective, positive communication and credibility of self and department.
Maintain the engineering workshop and storage areas in an organised, clean and tidy manner.
Organise and liaise with contractors that are on site, ensuring they are informed of the company’s H&S requirements and that they are qualified and competent to undertake the assigned work.
Ensure permits to work are completed and issued prior to the start of any work and closed off when work is completed.
Continuous Improvement project work across the factory, e.g. machinery installs or modifications
**Important Role Information**:
Shift work: Rotating 6am-2pm 2pm-10pm, or mid shift 10am-6pm (Potential for nights as the company grows).
Entering confined spaces where required (following training and medical)
**Requirements**:
Genuine interest in maintenance engineering with a willingness to learn and adapt.
A background in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering fields (formal qualifications are a plus but not mandatory).
Strong problem-solving abilities, combined with the capacity to work independently or within a team.
Effective communication skills and a firm dedication to workplace safety.
**Salary Offered**:
**Salary**: £25,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
