Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) is a charity launched in 2013 by Birmingham Headteachers to secure a deeply good education for every child in Birmingham addressing the social and the civic as well as the academic needs of our children. It seeks to ensure that no school is left isolated, schools support each other, and that all schools have access to a broad range of school improvement support.

Due to organisational changes, we are now looking for a HR Generalist who can support the Finance & Business Operations Manager and the wider management team with all aspects of HR duties.

This role is perfect for a dynamic, driven and organised individual who is proactive, able to multi-task and passionate about delivering excellent HR support to the team.

**Job role and purpose**
The HR Generalist will provide a wide range of HR advice and support across the whole of BEP which will include liaising with staff, management, external agencies and providing admin support in all aspects of daily HR functions.

**Key responsibilities.**
- Guiding management and staff on employee relations and performance management.
- Keeping up to date with employment law
- Assisting employees with queries as and when required or sign posting them to the appropriate personnel.
- Supporting the improvement, implementation and management of an effective suite of policies and procedures, providing advice and updates to staff where required.
- Creating and maintaining employee records
- Processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes
- Compiling reports as required and conducting relative audits on staff files
- Effectively communicating with employees at different levels of the organisation
- Adhering to confidentiality, GDPR, policies and procedures
- Providing HR support in relation to attending HR meetings and compiling minutes if required
- Participating where necessary in the implementation of the company’s internal processes. These may include duties in relation to the following matters: disciplinary processes, grievances, complaints and investigations
- Assisting the Finance & Business Operations Manager in the administration of payroll and pension duties.
- Supporting the implementation and administration of staff benefits
- Implementing programs to improve the employee experience of the organisation as a workplace.
- Supporting with HR related training programs, workshops and seminars.

**Other duties.**

To undertake any other duty as required by the organisation, commensurate with pay grade, skills and experience.

To work with BEP colleagues to:

- Develop a shared knowledge of BEP projects and products and create opportunities for mutually beneficial linkages between them.
- Provide mutual support to the development, marketing and delivery of all BEP projects and projects.

**Person Specification**

Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in a HR role - Desirable
- Qualified or working towards a CIPD level 5 or equivalent qualification

**Key Skills & Knowledge**
- Working knowledge of HR function and best practice
- Excellent judgement and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of employment law and HR responsibilities
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills across all levels
- Cultural awareness and excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
