An exciting opportunity has come up for a Team Lead in Bus Services to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Transport Coordination Service.
The Transport Coordination Service (TCS) plans and manages Cornwall Council’s transport arrangements. It markets supports the whole public transport network, manages the concessionary fares scheme for 100,000 Cornish residents; determines eligibility and organises transport for over 13,000 children and young people, including up to 2000 Post-16 students, as well as over 1000 children with Special Educational Needs. There are also 1500 social care service users provided with transport every day. In total, there are over 15 million passenger journeys made annually.
As the Team Lead you will work closely with the Integrated Partnership and Network Manager to help plan and develop the public transport network to meet the travel needs of residents, specifically focusing on local bus and school bus contracts. The role holder will lead on the daily management and implementation of school bus contracts, Community Transport, Truro Park & Ride Schemes and tendered local bus services.
The role holder will oversee the Concessionary Fares Scheme, contractor payments and subsequent budget monitoring.
The role will bring a significant variation of functions and work and the role holder will work closely with colleagues across the team.
