**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Document Controller who will be responsible for ensuring appropriate access and management of documents and drawings is maintained at relevant stages in the project lifecycle.
This is a new role as part of a growing team within SSEN Distribution’s Large Capital Delivery directorate. As Document Controller, you’ll work as part of the Project Services team to ensure effective management, control and distribution of project documents. You will work closely with the Delivery Project Managers and the wider Large Capital Delivery team to ensure successful delivery of projects.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all project documents are organised and structured in line with procedures.
- Issue and distribute Project Documentation.
- Record and distribute Contractor & 3rd Party Documentation.
- Interface with Contractor & 3rd Party Document Control Teams.
- Quality checking of receipted Documents from Contractors and 3rd Parties.
- Maintain Project Correspondence.
- Ensure Document Control procedures are maintained and updated where required.
- Collaborate with the wider team to share lessons learned and best practices.
- Further activities as required.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
We are looking for someone who has experience of Document Control or a willingness to learn. A background in a Large Capital Projects environment would be advantageous, though this is not essential.
- Knowledge of Document Control Systems and Processes.
- Experience and understanding of using SharePoint
- Excellent MS Office skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Focus on continuous improvement, striving to improve the quality of Document Management processes as an aid to project management.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
