**Protection of Children and Young Persons**

(DBS) check, a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory employment references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position, as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College).

**Background to the Post**

The full time study programme for all learners requires them to undertake relevant internal and external Industry Placement and employability activities. Our learner numbers now require a number of full time co-ordinators to organise and facilitate the placements and activities.

The post holder will work with employers to find suitable placements and actively explore opportunities to help ensure all learners have access to meaningful placement opportunities.

The post holder will also support the monitoring of placements and maximise other employer engagement opportunities where internal work experience is planned.

The post holder will be required to attend a weekly meeting with the Industry Placement Manager and other Co-ordinators.

The post holder will report to the Industry Placement Manager and will be required to work across all our colleges.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

1. To coordinate the provision of Industry Placement to a nominal case-load of 250
- 300, 16-18 year old students on funded study programmes.

2. To ensure relevant health and safety checks are carried out for each placement.

3. To co-ordinate and record details of provision for each student.

4. To develop and maintain a broad base of employers with whom the department can work with to secure suitable work placements for the students in the departments.

5. To work closely with the students’ Personal Learning Advisor to, place students in their chosen area of work.

6. To provide support to the work placement providers and facilitate the opportunity of work placements.

7. To work closely with the academic team and student Personal Learning Advisor.

8. To provide students with guidance and support where needed to achieve a successful work placement.

9. To develop and sustain good working relations with existing employers and new employers.

10. To maintain and develop a database of suitable work experience providers and input provider names onto the College’s CRM system.

11. To provide regular reports for departmental managers.

12. To be innovative and enterprising in arranging work placements to benefit the students.

13. To attend relevant external events that will lead to increased employer engagement and placement opportunities.

14. To support events and conferences staged by the college and department to the benefit of students.

15. To promote Industry Placement in a positive and dynamic way.

16. To attend team meetings and work as part of a team and attend external meetings as required.

17. To work on one’s own initiative and support the team’s objectives including to facilitate and enable positive destinations for all the students.

18. To be flexible particularly in dealing with busy employers.

19. To record contact hours with students to claim the appropriate funding and monitor students completion of relevant work placement log books.

20. To assist with any other support duties across the department as may be required from time to time including preparation of open days/career events.

21. To undertake CPD as required by the department and College.

22. Support the delivery of the _T-Shaped _Employability Framework.

**In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.**

**Annual Leave**

The College offers a generous annual leave entitlement to support staff, commencing with 25 days rising to 28 days after 5 years’ service, pro rata per annum plus 8 statutory days (Public & bank Holidays) and College closure days.

**Hours of Work**

The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 22.2 hours per week.

**Place of work**

The principal place of work will be the College’s premises based at our Moreton Morrell Centre and our Pershore Centre. However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at whic
