**Head of Purchasing (Food Manufacture)**

**West Surrey / M3 Corridor**

**£60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Company Shares + 25 days holiday + £7,500 car allowance or car + full benefits package by negotiation**

Are you an experienced purchasing manager with an FMCG background looking to work for a global business where you will lead the purchasing strategy for 6 sites across the UK?

On offer is a role as the UK Lead Buyer where you'll be responsible for ensuring your supply chain performs against KPIs, leveraging tangible benefit across 6 UK sites from Scotland to Exeter.

Being the Head of Buying within the team means thriving within a fast-paced environment where confident problem-solving and quick decision-making counts. We want the Head of Purchasing to develop the operational buyers, hold strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders and drive performance across all business areas and offer solutions to problems.

As a Senior Buyer you will be responsible for development the short, medium and long term buying strategies across the business ensuring your supply chain performs against KPIs, managing escalations within the Purchasing team and guiding the buyers to achieve the best possible value for the business.

**The role**:

- Build strong relationships across the supply base, be responsible and accountable to make and influence key decisions that are in the best interests of the company
- Manage and resolve key supplier escalations, ensuring on-time delivery
- Drive team performance against KPIs and operational metrics
- Develop and introduce risk mitigation strategies to protect production
- Manage multiple resource / capacity projects with suppliers to ensure the drive for efficiency within the business
- Identify and drive cost reduction activities across the business
- Develop and lead supplier relationships to deliver tangible mutual benefits
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify new technologies to reduce cost and or add additional value

- Significant procurement and management experience from with within the food or FMCG industry
