Sterile Services plays a key role in the Hospital environment, ensuring surgical instruments are decontaminated following the ISO 13485 Quality Management System for medical devices.

If successful, you'll act as a role model to other staff, provide guidance to them and ensure that our patients are cared for in a safe and sterile environment to aid their treatment and recovery.

If successful you'll work with management to provide a professional cost effective service to all wards and departments within the Trust, and to other organisations with whom supply arrangements have been agreed; and to provide such technical advice as these services require.

You'll also assist the management to ensure the safe decontamination of re-usable medical devices from the MSB Group, Sterile Services/Sterile Scopes Department (SUHT) and to assist with the management and education of all staff within that department.

You'll work in close collaboration with other professionals e.g. Clinical Directors, Consultants, Clinical Nurse specialists and ward / department representatives to select best choice products required by clinical staff and their patients.

- Looking after the day to day service delivery in all areas of the department and working closely with the Production Coordinator ensuring all processes and procedures are followed.
- Oversee our technicians who are trained ‘on the job’ to work across the three sections of the department to enable them with operating departmental machinery, recognising the instrumentation, ensuring sets are complete, instruments are clean and in working order.
