Working for the Methodist Church (22 hours per week) across a "Circuit" that runs from Newquay to Truro and beyond, this new role of Finance & Admin Officer has the following duties: - To be responsible for the day-to-day management of circuit finances including the processing of invoices and expense claims for payment, 'Sage’ entry and reconciliation, and the invoicing and receipt of income; - Maintaining records of financial transactions and the drawing up of summary information including budgets, annual accounts and periodic analyses for performance monitoring; - To be responsible for the production of documents and records in respect of the annual examination of accounts and reports to the Charity Commission, liaising with the Circuit accountants as appropriate; - In consultation with the Circuit Property Group, to be responsible for the management of circuit manse property including emergency, day-to-day, and cyclical work and planned improvements, taking professional advice as appropriate, maintaining a list ofapproved contractors and co-ordinating regular inspections; - To manage the occasional disposal (via sale or lease) of circuit property; - In consultation with the Circuit Property Group, to liaise with churches following quinquennial inspections of their properties to review the report and support the local response; - ...and any other jobs which may from time to time be judged appropriate by your line manager.
