Due to our ongoing growth, JSP Hauliers are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at our Leigh based operation. It is a great time to be joining JSP Hauliers with growth very much on the agenda.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transport Planner. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery of goods. This is a key role in our supply chain management process, and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes to optimize delivery schedules
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs and delivery confirmations
- Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any transportation issues or delays
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
- Continuously evaluate and improve transportation processes to increase efficiency
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with drivers, suppliers, and customers
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proactive attitude with a drive for continuous improvement
- Leadership abilities to effectively manage a team of drivers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- IT skills to utilize transport planning software effectively
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles is preferred
- Computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn new software systems

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
