**About us**
Eden View supports people with a range of complex care needs including Acquired Brain Injuries, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, physical disabilities, and also offers respite care and short breaks.
The home has two floors, 5 rooms downstairs and 5 rooms upstairs. It has a courtyard with raised flower beds and physiotherapy room.
**The role**
As Activities Coordinator you will provide a varied and appropriate programme of activity, based around the needs, wishes and desires of the people we support using the identified resources, in conjunction with the Service Manager, and other colleagues. Key responsibilities include:
- Identify with the people we support individual activity needs and wishes through assessment, observation and discussion.
- Liaise with people we support, relatives, friends, and staff, to ensure full knowledge of the person we support likes, dislikes, interests, abilities and difficulties.
- Explore the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs including group events, individual sessions, involving internal and external resources and community based resources.
- Advertise and promote the planned programme in a manner, which encourages involvement of all the people we support, relatives and staff.
- Provides activities based on the planned programme which allows for necessary changes.
- Maintain written records/ electronic records of the people we support individual assessments, participation and activity evaluation in line with guidance provided.
- Maintain a portfolio of information, including the range of activities available within the Service and the local community.
- Regularly review the people we support needs, the programme of activities and levels of participation, in conjunction with the Service Manager and Physiotherapist.
- Organise themed events as required based, based on local holidays, traditions, etc.
- Organise outings as appropriate, giving consideration to safety needs and staffing requirements.
- Participate in fund raising events as required.
**About you**
This role needs someone who cares about making every moment matter for the people we support and be able to use that passion to encourage and support people to gain new experiences. Great communication skills and being able to motivate people using your enthusiasm and positive approach.
It is essential to have strong organisational skills and have had previous experience in care or support role which includes organising activities. Being empathetic to people’s needs whilst being creative in planning and coming up with new ideas. It is desirable that you hold a valid driver’s licence.
