FINANCE DIRECTOR - This is a critical and highly visible role within the Business. The overall requirement is for a commercially focused, technically robust, operational and agile finance executive who can deliver a rigorous control environment while also acting as an effectivebusiness partner to the MD of UK&I and as a key support to the Senior Leadership Team and Chief Financial Officer Europe, as well as being able to build strong relationships with the UK and Group Finance Teams Globally. - The role has a split focus both on commercial decision support, with a significant proportion of the time spent on business development and leading business improvement initiatives, developing strong and robust financial processes and on ensuring compliancewith management accounts and statutory auditing processes - Focus on day-to-day performance whilst simultaneously pursuing longer term opportunities, including M&A opportunities. - Owner of the finance processes and systems acting as a robust finance controller ensuring processes, procedures and systems are compliant and adhere to accounting standards, legislation and best practices. The Finance Director will be responsible for,but not limited to:Team management - Business forecasting and financial planning - Driving financial & operational performance - Cash flow and cost analysis - Production on monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet and P&L) - Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations and payrolls - Preparing and delivering monthly reports and financial forecasts - Management of long-term business plans and drive improvements where necessary - Budgeting and forecasting cycles - Accurate and timely completion of month end processes - Implementation and on-going development of financial systems and processes - Supporting commercial, investment and strategic decisions - Evaluate business controls and identify areas for improvement - The management and implementation of financial controls - Analysing trends and finding solutions to overcome challenges - Ensuring regulatory requirements are met across the group - Overseeing and responsible for VAT returns, statutory returns, Year End Audit, and preparation of the annual accounts - Liaison with external agencies eg Bank, HMRC and external auditors Qualified accountant with a minimum of seven years' post qualification experience including experience of Statutory Accounts and Audit processes Ideally exposure to a contract driven and agile growing business. Outstanding track record in influencing decision making and performance/profit improvement. Experience of project management and programme control. A strong technical grounding and first class forecasting and budgeting credentials. Prior experience critiquing and presenting investment cases. A progressive track record within a blue-chip, well managed and ideally international business. Prior experience of ensuring tight cost control in a competitive market and business. A "hands-on" operator who is comfortable with detail and adopts a pragmatic approach. Organised in managing their work and able to identify and prioritise the key issues. Intellectually bright, enthusiastic, and motivating leader who commands respect. Able to work with colleagues at all levels of the business. The highest levels of personal integrity. Outstanding communicator with the ability to distil complexity and the self-confidence and gravitas to communicate at the most senior levels. Strong team player who has the ability to influence others and portray a sense of direction, leadership and commitment to people "down the line". Strong evidence of resilience, energy and drive. An innovator who is able to lead and manage change.
