Then this role is waiting for someone like you **About the role - Complex Needs Teaching Assistant** I am currently looking for a number of Teaching Assistants with experience working with students with special educational needs within a mainstream setting. The school has both primary and secondary sites and are currently looking for experienced TA's towork with secondary students aged 11-18 who have an EHCP statement of special educational needs that are categorized as "complex needs". These may include working with students with Autism, speech and language needs, Down Syndrome and other needs that affectlearning, cognition or communication. You will be responsible for helping the class teacher keep students engaged in lessons, helping students with classwork, carrying out behaviour interventions and keeping track of student progress, helping to plan and adaptlessons or activities that will be inclusive for the students you are working with and encouraging social interaction with their peers. Applicants should be flexible and adaptable as you will move fluidly throughout the school, working with a variety of differentstudents with different needs where needed. Bubbly and friendly individuals with SEN experience are always encouraged to apply. **About the school** This is a large mixed mainstream school with Primary and Secondary sites, each with an Alternative Resource Provision for students with Complex needs. They aim to ensure that students who have additional needs are supported ably in the classroom and aregiven every opportunity to maximise their abilities. Students are supported within a mainstream classroom by teaching assistants and are also given small group sessions and interventions within the resource provision. They have access to the National Curriculumand are encouraged to engage in mainstream education wherever possible. The school is a busy and energetic environment with friendly staffing teams, happy, confident students and a supportive senior leadership team. The school is based locally to Wembley Park station and is accessible by several local bus routes also.
