**Team Lead Radiotherapy Review Radiographer**

**The Harley Street clinic**

**Full time, 37.5 hrs per week**

**Monday - Friday, service to be covered between 08:30 -17:30.**

The Review radiographer in Radiotherapy will work as an autonomous practitioner, within a patient care team, to monitor and review the wellbeing of patients undergoing radiotherapy, assessing complex disease and treatment side effects via initial holistic assessment, regular on-treatment review and follow-up care. The post holder will also be responsible for liaising with consultants and the wider care team to ensure a quality and seamless service responsive to the needs of induvial patients and their carers.

Either previous patient review experience, or experience at team lead level, is desirable but not essential and full training will be provided.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Supports the team in managing complex oncology patient care.
- To assist in the provision of expert advice and interventions within radiotherapy that maintains and improves standards of care and promotes a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
- Contributes towards a multi-professional approach in the management of patients and co-ordination of their care within Radiotherapy by maintaining good working relationships with all medical teams.
- Demonstrate the skills for assessing and interpreting specialist acute and other patient conditions, initiating actions or escalating as appropriate. Providing specialist care and guidance on skin care to manage radiation reactions.
- Supports the Radiotherapy department by providing a high standard of care for both in-patients and out-patients.
- Contributes to the educational needs of the patients and their families in understanding their treatment programme and preparing for this appropriately.
- Supporting the educational needs of the radiographers, ensuring clinical areas are maintained and staff are supported in emergency procedures.
- Maintaining own professional standards by attending MDT meetings where appropriate, Journal club, COMMS meetings, and quality review meetings, as well as playing a role within the audit element of the department.
- Focus on the patient experience and support the senior team to improve and implement patient experience measures**.**

**Skills & Experience**

BSc in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent.

HCPC registration

Minimum of 4 years’ experience working as a radiographer, with some experience at team lead level preferable.

Able to use own initiative and ability to work as part of the team.

Ability to work flexible hours to meet the service requirement.

Ability to take the initiative and work autonomously, also awareness of when to ask for help.

Strong organisational skills working across many modalities.

Cannulation and contrast competence desired but not essential.
