We’re looking for two exceptional IT Service Owners to help us make a difference to our planet. We have an opportunity in our Defence and Transport team and Public Hazards and Resilience team.

Our IT Service Owner will work a hybrid pattern of homeworking and monthly visits to our Exeter HQ.

As our IT Service Owner the key duties are:

- Being accountable for the quality of a portfolio of services.
- Help us to keep evolving by improving how we support our services in a DevOps environment.
- Managing the relationships with suppliers suppliers to ensure that they build and deliver services on our behalf effectively.
- Managing finances including development of the budgets, appropriate forecasting and management through the financial life cycle.

This role could include line management.

We operate an on-call roster in Technology to provide 24/7/365 support to respond to operational service requirements. This post may be part of an on-call roster and the postholder would be required to participate in an on-call roster where in operation.

**Person specification**:

- ** Financial ownership**. You can secure funding for Agile delivery through a business case and by making a good pitch in government. You can prioritise spending based on return on investment (ROI) and strategic intent. You can be responsible for contract ownership and accountable for the realisation of benefits.
- ** Operational management**. You can manage the operational process of designing and running a product or service throughout its entire product life cycle.
- ** Problem management**. You can understand and identify problems, analysing and helping to identify the appropriate solution. You can classify and prioritise problems, document their causes and implement remedies.
- ** Strategic ownership**. You can effectively focus on outcomes rather than solutions. You can develop ambitious visions and strategies. You can get the organisation and team to buy in. You can translate the vision into prioritised deliverable goals.
- ** User focus**. You can understand users and identify who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence.

As our IT Service Owner, your starting salary will be £45150.00 and you will have opportunities to progress to £49890.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band mínima.
