**The Role**:
M&G are looking for a Head of Global RFP to support our Asset Management business plan by working with key Distribution personnel & wider stakeholders to understand strategy and key priorities and to oversee BAU team activities. The role will be a people managementrole, and they will not be expected to actively participate in the creation of submissions (e.g., RFPs, RFIs & DDQs). They will be expected to pro-actively support transformation efforts within the team in order to increase team efficiency and content quality.
**Key Responsibilities for this role**:
- Oversees the delivery of the Global RFP strategy, responsible for the long-term direction of the team, development of processes and use of technology.
- Implements and leads monthly feedback / MI sessions with the business to identify areas for improvement and actively works to implement these
- Supports the delegation of the work to the RFP team through Salesforce and communicate any capacity constraints to Distribution teams to manage expectations effectively
- Works with Distribution leads to understand priorities, specific client needs and ensures this is clearly understood by RFP writing team
- Works closely with RocketDocs, M&G's RFP management software to ensure content is stored, managed and maintained efficiently for use across the business
- Provides oversight where needed; an area of focus will be on embedding a quality assurance procedure for all proposals
- Manages the RFP writers. Assists in training for new writers, allows the senior writers to take the lead on their designated asset class whilst being an escalation point where necessary (for both the writers and the business stakeholders)
- Upholds the highest standards of excellence and set an example for others to follow
- Empowers all members of the RFP team, allowing them to further their knowledge and careers through delegation of responsibility, training or other media
- Reports to the business on both an ad-hoc and scheduled basis on RFP activity, success rates and other relevant initiatives
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
**Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
- 6+ years' experience of working in asset management in an RFP role, ideally with experience in leading a team
- Experience working with key stakeholders across the business (Distribution, Client Service, Investment Specialists etc.) to understand key client needs and business priorities
- Ability to demonstrate track record in improving RFP processes and content
- Experienced in managing and developing a team
- Demonstrated history in establishing and implementing business processes, as well as identifying key areas for improvement
- Ability to identify, assess, respond to and escalate risks or potential risks encountered through day-to-day activities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must; the team has a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally
- Knowledge of market trends and ability to understand regional differences
- Proficient in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
