Senior User Researcher

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior User Researcher to join our team based in Gilwell Park, Chingford, London. We will offer you a competitive salary of £53,000 - £60,000 per annum.Hybrid working option available.

**The Senior User Researcher Role**:
As our Senior User Researcher, you'll have solid experience working from discovery stage to finished product, designing products or services which have a deep root in understanding users and their needs. You're confident in your proven user research and servicedesign expertise. You're able to communicate clearly, translate ideas and prototype ‘just enough’ to validate your work to get you to the next stage.

**Key responsibilities as our Senior User Researcher**:

- Champion our digital principles, and ensure users are at the centre of all of our work.
- Lead our best practice around user research service design and UX, ensuring that other teams understand and can adopt user centred design methodology
- Co-ordinate user research / service design work with third party suppliers to ensure consistency of our volunteer experience across all channels
- Champion user research and insight across a range of projects and products to understand our user needs and to feed these insights into - Define and uphold user research. UX and design standards, guidelines and best practices.
- Solve problems creatively using strategic thinking and innovative ideas.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful insight.
- Identify areas of improvement within current processes using varied systems design tools and techniques to demonstrate improvements.

**What we are looking for in our Senior User Researcher**:

- Demonstrable experience in using user research and UX design principles and methodologies and user centred design across a range of projects.
- Demonstrable experience in leading user research projects, including face to face research, remote and online tools and analysis.
- Thorough experience in using User research and service design and analytics tools
- Thorough experience of creating personas and other design tools.
- Thorough experience of running discovery & design workshops.
- Excellent knowledge and thorough experience in designing digital products and user experiences.
- Experience of overseeing third party suppliers
- Facilitation, ideation, requirements capture and interview skills
- Line management. or mentoring experience.
- Experience working as part of an agile delivery or a product team in a matrixed organisation
- Excellent knowledge of designing to accessibility standards.
- Proficient in UX tools (such as Sketch, Invision, and Axure).
- HTML and CSS skills would be a bonus.
- Education and industry standard qualifications in UK, an advantage but not a requirement.
You’ll be playing a critical role in transforming our volunteer experience, ensuring that we provide brilliant, joined up and seamless experience to our volunteers.
