Fish4Pets’ brands are a premium offer and customer service excellence is the expectation of our customers, whether a direct consumer purchasing a single parcel or a major export trade customer purchasing multiple sea containers.
We are currently seeking a Quality Assistant to join our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) team, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. This role reports into our HSQ Manager.
You will be required to support the SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) & Regulatory function at the companies Storage & Distribution facility with an emphasis on Quality Control. You will be contributing to creating and upholding a 'right first-time' culture.
You will spend your time being out and about on the shop floor as well as being desk based.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities are outlined below (list not exhaustive):
- Completion investigations into Customer complaints and external non-conformances.
- Collation and dispatch of samples for external laboratory testing
- Data entry of laboratory results onto the spreadsheet
- Completion of regular product and packaging checks within the warehouses, resolving any issues, or escalating if necessary
- Inspection, logging and filing of retention samples
- Completion of pallet checks and export administration in relation to export health certificates, ensuring all information is accurate.
- Filing of records related to H&S, Environmental, Regulatory & Quality
- Completion of Fabric & Hygiene Audits monthly, liaising with management to ensure all corrective actions are completed.
- Arrangement of contractors and ad-hoc work on site.
- To be the first point of contact for any contractors, ensuring RAMS are obtained and a H&S induction is completed.
- To actively enforce the companies’ policies on the shop floor.
- Purchasing of cleaning supplies, PPE and any other ad-hoc supplies for the Operations Team
- Completion of credit card statements each month, ensuring all purchases are accounted for.
- Tracking PPE expenditure ensuring the budget is followed.
- Booking training as required, ensuring certification is kept up to date.
- Submit regular returns for Plastic Packaging Tax & Extended Producer Responsibility.
- Assist with the administration of the chosen management systems - including document control.
- Contribute and take meeting minutes in the internal H&S meetings.
- Ensure all calibration, maintenance & servicing to the site and it’s equipment is carried out by external approved contractors to the planned schedule.
- To commit to the continued development, sustainment, and improvement of the organisations Quality Management System, and any future management systems that the company may decide to implement.
- To abide by Health and Safety regulations, and roles and responsibilities as defined in the company’s Health & Safety Policy.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade 4 - 9 (A* - C), including English and Maths
- Basic understanding of Quality Control
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety
