We are currently looking to employ a creative and dedicated Events Assistant to join our marketing and events team. Within this role, you will be supporting how STFC promotes our facilities and services to businesses of all sizes, whilst also working to communicate our impact back to collaborators. Our success is not monetary but measured on how our work supports the growth of UK businesses and in turn the country’s economy. Our currency is the success stories we are able to tell.

**About the role**

This role will be exciting and varied, with no two days the same We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaged team member, working closely with four marketing professionals to ensure that events are successfully promoted.

You will also work with colleagues across the Business and Innovations Directorate in supporting internal and external events, from smaller collaborative events to large international conferences involving partner organisations such as The European Space Agency (ESA) and CERN.

The role will also involve working autonomously, conducting analysis and contributing feedback on events to the Events Manager in order that STFC can keep abreast on which ones they should attend and sponsor. You will be able to lead on some of the events, including ESA's monthly networking platform event.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

- Supporting all internal and external events.
- Analysis of events.
- Taking ownership of routine networking and business support events.
- Work closely with the marketing team members in promoting events.
- Support logístical and administrative tasks.
- Maintain records for all projects.
- Coordinate and maintain the Events Calendar.
- Support and provide input to the department’s event processes.
- Attend meetings.
- Support the setup and dismantle of stands at internal and external exhibitions.
- Follow STFC’s inclusive events guidelines.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, capable of working under mínimal direction and comfortable in working with a wide variety of individuals at all levels. Having excellent interpersonal skills is crucial, as is the ability to think quickly and problem solve. We are looking for someone who is a great teammate, uses their initiative and is able to bring new insights. Organisation and project management skills are key to this role as well as a can-do demeanour and a good eye for detail.

The role will involve travel to other STFC sites as well as conference and exhibition locations throughout the UK. You will have some experience in an event role and will be seeking a challenge.
