We are currently looking for a Yard Operative to join our successful Hire and Sales branch in Brigg (DN20 8PD).

**Overall Purpose**

To be responsible for organising material, handling stock and other assets in a manner which ensures operational efficiency and customer service, safety and security.

**Job Content**

To ensure that all stock movements are accurately and correctly documented.

To ensure that all stock and equipment is serviced, maintained and painted in accordance with a planned maintenance schedule, company safety and security policy.

To keep equipment in good condition, segregating repairable and scrap equipment.

To ensure safety and maintenance checks are carried out on machinery including a weekly check on the forklift.

To ensure the safe loading and unloading of vehicles.

To organise the yard and prepare for yard stock counts.

**Personal Attributes**

Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Naturally assertive with the ability to negotiate agreeable solutions.

Ability to work with, and independent of, the Yard Foreman and Branch Manager.

Comfortable working in a complex, challenging and fast-paced environment.

- Brigg, DN20 8PD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
