**What we’re looking for**:
Peabody is looking for a full time, permanent Housing Support Worker to work in our Colchester supported housing hostels for single people and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Good communication and computer skills are vital, as is the ability to keep accurate records, work as part of a team and manage a caseload.

Do you have previous experience in a similar housing role with good knowledge of welfare benefits, risk assessments and support planning processes? Do you have an understanding of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children? Are you able to promote independent living skills, provide advice and guidance around tenancy management, employment education and training?

If so, this role is perfect for you Here at Peabody, we have a fantastic opportunity for a full time, permanent Housing Support Worker at Colchester Temporary Housing service.

**A bit about the role**:
Colchester Temporary Housing service is a service for homeless households who are awaiting assessment or being assessed by Colchester Borough Homes as to their right to be housed by the housing authority. We work with young people, single adults and families. Some will move on to social housing whilst others may be found intentionally homeless and will move to the private rented sector. Staff provide a support service to meet the needs of licensees whilst they live in any of the schemes within the service. The team works closely with Colchester Borough Homes to facilitate move-on into appropriate accommodation.

The working hours are Monday - Friday, shift patterns are: 8am - 3.30pm and 11.30am - 7pm.

Due to our locations, it is essential that drivers have their own mode of transport.

**Please note there is no personal care involved in this role.**
- This role will require an Enhanced DBS check._
