Compliance & Data Protection Officer

**Office Angels are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance and Data Protection, to join our client who is based in Durham DH1, on a permanent contract basis.**

- Location: DH1, Durham.
- Salary range: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
- Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM, with the option for hybrid work pattern. The expectation is to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week and be available to attend any meetings/training etc.

**The Role**:
The role will be the focal point for maintaining compliance with all legal and regulatory matters within the business. This includes providing support to the Managing Director, Responsible Officer, Compliance Officer, Compliance & Expert Performance Manager,liaising with the outsourced provider of compliance services and others.
To provide the business with support in identifying, managing, monitoring, reporting, and mitigating all key risks identified on the risk register; and to embed a risk aware culture across the organisation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Act as the Caldicott Guardian.
- Develop and maintain the Business Decisions Log.
- Undertake or support internal audits and other associated activities.
- Support customer & supplier audits and due diligence.
- Maintain all ISO standards and accreditation's and associated internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain all policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them.
- Liaise with IT & Change on ISO/data protection systems/controls matters.
- Support and maintain positive relationships with any relevant regulatory bodies and/or auditors and/or suppliers of relevant services.
- Undertake appropriate research and maintain awareness of current legislation and regulatory changes.
- Ensure widespread awareness in the business of current legal and regulatory issues at all levels through training.
- Work with the key senior personnel to maintain the internal risk management framework and chair the monthly Risk Review meetings,
- Ensure the Senior Management Team are always aware of the key risks, that there is timely progress in mitigating those risks to within risk appetite and embed a risk aware culture.
- Ensure relevant MI and data analysis are provided to the SMT on a monthly basis, to inform accurate decision-making.
**The requirements**:
- Either working towards or hold a qualification in data protection legislation.
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- TEAM PLAYER - with the ability to work under you own initiative
- Work ethic is KEY - Are you dedicated, hardworking and committed to doing a good job
- Own transport would be beneficial due to the location of this client
