The role and the team:
We're looking for a passionate Lead Product/UX designer who'll be a key member of the Experience team, within the Product and Design department.

You’ll report to the Head of User Experience and be responsible for a team of Product/UX designers. Where you’ll lead a team of product designers, supporting product teams, product managers and content managers to bring the product vision to life, whilst supporting business growth.

You will simplify and continually improve the user experience, based on member insights. You’ll be a strong collaborator working with the rest of the Product & Design department, members and stakeholders improving our ways of working so that we lead on experience.

Accountable for:
**PERFORMANCE**
- Manage, coach and inspire a team of 2 Product Designers (who sit in different product teams) while reporting to the Head of User Experience
- Advocate for lean UX and design sprints based on problems to be solved identified during product discovery.
- Run UX research studies and demonstrate a good understanding of qual and quant methods.
- Work with product managers and stakeholders to understand business needs and define UX metrics.
- Work with the Head of User Experience to identify, scope, and plan UX improvement projects supporting the main product roadmap.
- Team up with the Content Lead to make the user experience more fun, engaging and emotional.
- Be actively involved in the build and maintenance of the giffgaff design system.
- Continuously improve processes and introduce best practices within the Product Design team.
- Facilitate design sprints, workshops and co-creation sessions

- Support the team in creating high-quality UX deliverables, including flows and wireframes, user journey maps, low and high fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes

Key responsibilities:

- Be responsible for the user experience across either the commercial or member product team domain or any new domain established.
- Showing the value of user-centric design and the impact good and bad experience(s) has on revenue, nets, NPS, etc.
- Championing Product Discovery with the Head of Experience influencing ways of working so that we’re user-centric with our design thinking
- Educate and showcase the value of UX, Product Discovery and creating user-centric products.
- Share user insights across the business to help inform the company strategies.
- Work with the Lead Product Managers to drive the commercial or the member product team(s) strategy forward and drive an outcome-driven roadmap.
- Help build the experience vision, strategy and user-centric outcomes that drive positive user experiences.
- Be insight-driven, showing user outcome(s), experience considerations and impact.

Skills, experience and attitudes:

- Extensive experience in user-centred design: Product Discovery, UX research, UX/UI design, visual design, branding and design systems.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, A/B testing and web analytics.
- The ability to communicate at a high level the experience vision, explain the strategy and sell the value of UX.
- Thrive in fast-paced Agile environments where people can collaborate and communicate effectively, and people actively solicit your feedback.
- A deep sense of ownership of the experiences you’re responsible for. You’ll promote iterative product discoveries that inform the teams’ roadmaps.
- Experience managing, teaching, coaching and mentoring other product designers
- Passion about the work you and your team does. You’ll inspire the people who work with you, have an eye for detail and ambition to raise the bar.
