Yorkshire Ambulance Service are seeking an Apprenticeship Learner Support Lead to support YAS Academy in the delivery of our apprenticeship provision. The role is a great opportunity for someone with apprenticeship knowledge to work across employer-provider and provider-led apprenticeships with involvement in all stages of the learner journey.

The post-holder will have knowledge of apprenticeships, with a strong understanding of ESFA (Education & Skills Funding Agency) Funding Regulations and Ofsted requirements. Prior experience of working in an apprenticeships environment is required.

The postholder will work with the YAS Academy quality and apprenticeship teams to lead on learner support for apprentices. They will work closely with the Apprenticeships Manager to support the clinical apprenticeship career pathway, from pre-enrolment through to post graduate levels. The
post-holder will oversee the learning journey of non-clinical apprentices within the Trust and provide individual support to apprentice learners. The post holder will support managers across the Trust to identify provider-led apprentice opportunities for recruitment, development and onwards progression for their staff.

Develop proactive, supportive, and positive working relationships with colleagues within own directorate, the wider Trust and other organisations.
- Work with the recruitment team and represent the Trust at career events and meetings relating to apprenticeship programmes, ensuring good communication systems are in place to provide accurate information.
- Provide advice and support to Trust managers in dealing with apprenticeships and staff development.
- Respond to feedback from key stakeholders (managers, staff etc) to develop ways in which the service could be improved.
- Liaise and work in partnership with Operational Managers, Educators, and the Quality Assurance Team to coordinate individualised learner support for apprentices as required.
- Support learners on an individual basis to ascertain needs and signpost to sources of support regarding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Functional Skills, Health & Wellbeing, Safeguarding and any other learner requirements.
- Communicate sensitive information relating to learner needs, performance, safeguarding, and individual circumstances, linking in with Team Leaders and Assessors to coordinate learner support.
- Communicate with apprentices to motivate and encourage process, linking in with Team Leaders and Assessors to formulate individual learner plans.
- Make presentations as required, for example apprenticeship induction sessions, apprenticeship information sessions and careers events.
