**About Caring Together**
Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our life. Caring Together is an ambitious regional charity that provides emotional and practical support, information and advice to carers of all ages and their families, as well as opportunities to take a break from their caring role.
Our vision is of a world in which all carers have choices.
**About the Role**
Working within our small and friendly community engagement team your key focus will be to develop strong relationships with organisations that will help increase awareness and support for carers, their families and the work of Caring Together as a charity.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with colleagues to develop partnerships with organisations that are mutually beneficial to Caring Together to support carers.
- Help to identify opportunities for funding and any other opportunities of benefit to Caring Together and the carers we support.
- Promote the work of Caring Together and the issues carers face across multiple sectors (including health organisations, education providers, corporates and voluntary sector organisations).
- Co-ordinate and deliver a programme of high-quality carer awareness-raising talks, presentations, and interactive workshops, to raise awareness of carers and their needs/challenges or willingness to be mentored to develop this skill.
- Be someone who wants to give back to their community and work with a diverse range of communities, to raise awareness for underrepresented groups.
- Represent Caring Together and the experiences of carers at events and meetings.
- Manage your organisational partners, to achieve Charity-wide engagement and funding targets, and continue to develop positive working relationships.
- Ensure content of carer awareness resources is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they remain current and reflecting the experiences of carers.
- Be an ambassador for cultural change, including embedding behaviours. Work within the philosophy and policies of Caring Together.
**What we need from you**
- A positive and engaging personality with excellent attention to detail, who demonstrates a constructive, solution focussed approach.
- Ability to engage with a diverse range of people and build effective relationships
- Ability to produce written reports
- Commitment to capturing and promoting the voices and experiences of carers
- Excellent presentation skills or the willingness to be mentored
- Willingness and ability to travel using your own transport across our region
- Experience with Microsoft programmes and IT literate
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and cope with change and conflicting priorities
**Desirable**
- Knowledge of issues facing carers and how health, social care and /or education sectors work
- Effective proof reading
