**WRc's Waste and Resources team **is seeking a **Principal Consultant** on a **full-time, permanent** basis joining our supportive and friendly team in **Swindon**. We are happy to consider applicants seeking part-time opportunities, hybrid working options are also available.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to be a technical lead and support business growth. You will have substantial experience in leading consultancy or technical projects in the Waste and Resources sector.

We are recognised as experts in waste characterisation and classification particularly of difficult national waste streams which may be hazardous or POPs wastes. We assess the impact of changing chemical legislation on business, be it sustainable waste operations or supporting assessment of end of life products.

WRc is one of the UK’s most innovative scientific and engineering consultancies and is part of the RSK Group.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Providing technical leadership for consultancy projects
- Liaising with clients to understand their needs, identify opportunities and driving the development of proposals
- Contributing to wider service offerings including cross-WRc and cross-RSK
- Training and mentoring junior colleagues
- Contributing to the development of business plans and new business offerings

**Person Specification**
- Significant experience in the waste and resources sector
- Minimum of a first degree in a STEM discipline, preferably an environmental, engineering or chemical science
- Proven skills in client contact, and proposal and report writing
- Able to lead, motivate, willing take ownership of issues and seek team participation to achieve best solutions

**Salary and Benefits**
- Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Potential for promotion to Technical Director
- Flexible working hours based on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday
