Small Plant Fitter

As our **Small Plant Fitter/Warehouse Operative** you will have responsibility for servicing and maintaining a variety of small tools including 2/4 stroke petrol tools, sundry repairs to larger plant & vehicles and ensuring that our service crews have functioning, serviceable plant, vehicles and equipment. Additionally, you will be supporting the depot team in a variety of warehouse duties as and when required, and be prepared to load and drive our service vehicles to site as and when required.

The field crews will see you as a virtual member of their team, and you will, as required, attend site where on-site repairs are required in order to minimise lost productivity, or any of the teams are in need of any plant, equipment or materials that will allow them to keep on digging.

**Your key responsibilities are...**
- Diagnose faults and repair/maintain a variety of plant in the Zzoomm fleet including mini
- excavators, dumpers, small machines, tools etc, both on and off site
- Check and tag all equipment and update service records
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products and full range of accessories
- Operate materials handling equipment - pallet truck, telehandler, dumper truck etc. (training will be provided)
- Work to a safe standard safely
- Abide by company Health & Safety rules when on site
- Keep workshop area and vehicle (where provided) organised, clean, tidy and assist with general warehouse duties as and when required.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Depot Manager

**What we need you to have..**
- Experience in a similar role
- A Cat B UK drivers licence
- A towing licence (B+E)
- As the day to day job includes a lot of manual labour, including lifting and carrying equipment, we are looking for someone who is able to comfortably carry out this type of work.
- A relevant mechanical/electrical qualification (or time served)
- Experience in petrol and diesel contractor tools servicing and maintenance
- Telehandler or Forklift licence (preferred)
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills required to update/maintain maintenance schedules
